A recent international project brought together youth workers from across Europe to explore inclusive and digital approaches for working with neurodivergent youth.

The Romanian team joined peers from various countries in a collaborative learning experience filled with workshops, meaningful discussions, and hands-on visits that deepened everyone’s understanding of inclusive youth work.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Two powerful learning visits made a lasting impression on the Romanian participants:

🔹 Visit 1: Local Association for Neurodivergent Individuals
Participants visited a local organization that offers a full-day program (9 AM – 6 PM) for neurodivergent individuals. The schedule includes a variety of engaging activities like cooking, dancing, boxing, and more—designed to build skills, boost confidence, and foster community.

🔹 Visit 2: Public School for Children with Special Needs
The team also toured a public school dedicated to children with special needs. The school stood out for its modern facilities and a specially designed sensory/anti-stress room—offering students a safe, calming space to regulate emotions and focus on learning.

Reflecting and Growing Together

These experiences gave our team a valuable opportunity to see the differences in support systems between countries—especially between Poland and Romania. They also inspired us to reflect on what we can learn and apply back home.

By sharing ideas and seeing best practices in action, we are better equipped to create inclusive spaces and programs for neurodivergent youth in our own communities.

Together, we move one step closer to a Europe where every young person feels seen, supported, and empowered.
